While there are plenty of DIY platforms out there (which by the way are great BTW!) there can be some compelling reasons why your business shouldn't go it alone when it comes to your website.

First impressions:

It's an age old adage - first impressions count!  You've worked hard to build your business and you want to project your expertise and service offering to the market in the best way. Your website could be the first touch point a customer has with your business, and if it's not functional or your don't have the time to keep it up-to-date, that customer may go elsewhere.

You'll have back up:

While you may have the time and skill to produce a site with a popular web building platform, if things 'break' or your find yourself not having the time to manage your site like you used to, it can be a life saver (and stress saver) knowing you can reach out to a dedicated resource who knows your site and what you want to achieve.

Running an e-commerce site, managing SEO, Google Business listings and ensuring ongoing optimisation and content updates is time consuming. It's not just luck that helps you rank well in google search or compels a customer to use your website - it's plenty of hard work. Then there is your mailing list integration and other business tools you want to make sure are all working together to drive traffic - and revenue - to your business.

Build trust with your audience:

This tip follows on from the 'first impression' point above. If your bricks and mortar shop front was shabby, or your signage hard to read it sends a message of a lack of respect to your market audience or even worse, business is bad so why would they use you? Your website is no different. Having an out of date website or poorly functioning one certainly does not build trust and will turn away customers to your competitors who are taking it seriously.
