1. The Ipswich Art Gallery: There’s always something new happening at this very popular regional gallery. School holidays are always popular, and there are some great activities that focus on the younger ones. With over 100,000 people visiting each year, you know it’s worth the trip.

2. The Workshops rail museum: The former railway workshops located in North Ipswich and had a pretty good run, staying open from the late 1800’s through to the 1980s. This is a great low-cost day half-day out for the younger ones or those who just love trains and engineering. It’s also going to be the home of the upcoming Planes, Trains & Autos celebrating all things aviation, rail and auto.

3. White Rock Conservation Area
This is a great nature-based recreation space with bushwalking trails, horse riding trails and of course, White Rock itself.
The walking trails vary from 200m to 6.5 km (round trip). There are cultural protocols that prohibit people from climbing White Rock.
4. Orion Lagoon & Robelle Domain
Smack bang in the middle of Springfield Central and right across from the Orion shopping centre you will find this free lagoon of interconnected pools. Starting at 0.3 metres and going up to 1.5 meters in depth, it’s the perfect place to cool off during the hotter months. Nearby you also find Robelle Domain, with areas to ride your bike and a zero-depth water play area.
