Ipswich Council Elections 2020

The results are in - how did I go with my predictions?

In a previous post, I outlined my desktop predictions about who would be successful in getting across-the-line in the recent 2020 Ipswich local government elections. At the time of writing the ECQ website still appears to be having issues but we can now safely say who will be taking a seat in the council chambers.

My prediction for Mayor was Teresa Harding (elected) however I thought the vote margin was going to be lower. Well done Teresa who was the clear winner.

Div 1 predictions:

Jacob Madsen: Elected
Pye Augustine: Currently 4th according to ECQ

Div 2 predictions:

Paul Tully: Elected
Luise Manning: Currently 4th according to ECQ

*also a chance of Paul Tully's running mate, Nicole Jonic, doing well due to a strong campaign. Elected

Div 3 predictions:

Marnie Doyle: Elected
Andrew Fechner (wildcard pick): Elected

Jim Dodrill should poll well around his immediate suburbs but might fail to reach a wider audience due to the larger divisions. 3rd according to ECQ.

Div 4 predictions:

Russell Milligan: Elected
Susan Dunne: 3rd according to ECQ.

You can listen in below and hear about the Mayors priorities and immediate concerns.
