Ipswich City Council election predictions

Ben Hayward • March 28, 2020

A prediction

It's been one of the most unorthodox local government elections in the city's history; transitioning from administration during a pandemic. It could also take some time to finalise the vote, if close, due to large numbers of postal votes and ECQ staffing restrictions.

It could also be one of the lowest voter turn-outs in recent times due to the controversy over running the election during a pandemic contrary to other government advice for similar activities.

Let's see how I go.

Mayor: Teresa Harding however not via a large margin.

Div 1:

Jacob Madsen
Pye Augustine

Div 2:

Paul Tully
Luise Manning

*also a chance of Paul Tully's running mate, Nicole Jonic, doing well due to a strong campaign.

Div 3:

Marnie Doyle
Andrew Fechner (wildcard pick)

Jim Dodrill should poll well around his immediate suburb but might fail to reach a wider audience due to the larger divisions.

Div 4:

Russell Milligan
Susan Dunne
