What is AMP and why you should explore accelerated mobile pages

As the headline suggests, AMP stands for Accelerate Mobile Pages. It is an open source framework (launched by Google and others) to create mobile websites that almost load instantly!

Sounds awesome? Yes, it is. It’s also open source which means everyone can play nicely with this technology.

Why should you use it?

With the primary goal to improve the loading speed of mobile pages (where a significant amount of your traffic would come from) you can see what the immediate impact would be. An instantly loading website (we are talking tenths of a second) means a very positive first user impression.

Here are some reasons to consider AMP pages,

  • If a large proportion of your visitors and traffic are coming from mobile devices. You can find out more here by accessing your analytical tools.

  • Say good bye to slow page loads. If your site is not optimised for mobile devices, then you should make it a priority.

  • Lower those bounce rates! A user will not bounce off elsewhere waiting for your page to load. According to Google, 53% of visitors bounce from a page that takes more than 3 seconds to load and worse…. 79% will abandon a site with poor overall performance. You need to capture your visitors attention quickly and AMP can play a role here.

  • You are spending up on paid ads.

How to I get it?

Depending on the role your website plays in your business, Ipswich Websites clients can have this technology implemented from day one! During your consultation, we’ll identify if AMP pages are right for your business or project. Does it cost extra? Nope - we’ll include it in your build.

What's better than a massive, optimised audience? A laser-focused, niche-oriented audience. With performance max campaigns, your ads show only to people most likely to convert-meaning that you can spend more time fine-tuning your strategy and spending less time chasing leads who aren't ready for your product or service.
